I sold a home 7 months ago and in my contract i stated that the basement leaked when it rained. Now the new owner wants me to pay the expensive of the repairs for a french drain. Am i obligated to pay for this.

If the disclosure can be proven, it is doubtful that you have any liability. With luck, you disclosed the leaks in writing or with a witness that a judge will believe. The other side may be posturing in the hope that you will settle and pay some part of their improvements. You may want to consider having your lawyer write to the buyer and state your position.

I agree with John that if you made a full disclosure of the situation prior to the closing, the closing acts as an acceptance of the coondition. This presumes nothing took place at the closing that kept this issue open. This answer is provided as a general response, without seeing the Contract and/or all closing documenets.
