Is realtor entitle to a commission

My house was listed to sell and so was sisters. Now that my house is sold, I think I want to purchase my sisters house. According to the realtor contract, if the house is sold while under the contract period, they get a commission. What if my sister removes her house from the market and I purchase after the expiration date of the realtor contract. According to the contract, the commission is owed if the house is sold anytime within the contract period or 180 days after if the realtor introduced the buyer to the seller during the contract period. The realtor did not inroduce me to my sisters house. I was aware of it way before the realtor. My house and my sisters are listed by the same realtor. The realtor keeps asking if I am interested in my sisters house. I do not want to say yes, as I feel she will ask for commission.

Unless you negotiate something with the Realtor, your sister is obligated to pay a commission during the listing perioe. After the listing expires, you could probably buy the house, since it is a family situation and the realtor did not introduce you to the house.
