Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Jersey
We received notice to leave our apartment
We recently received a letter from our landlord that states we must be out of our unit in 30 days. We currently do not have a lease and are paying month to month. He claims that he is not happy with us because we "cause trouble" by ensuringa c/o and proper disposal of trash etc. What is the legal timeframe our family has to find another dwelling?

tHE LIKELIHOOD is near 100% that the notice your landlord sent to you was defective. You should have it reviewed by a competent attorney. Also, self-help evictions are prohibited in NJ and the Court system must be used by your LL to evict you. You do not have to move until a Judge tells you that you have to.
