Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Jersey

Refinance never happened

I have been in contact with a mortgage company in order to refinance my mortgage since June 2003. I paid $350.00 for an appraisal of my property. I went to their office in October and filled out the papers to apply for the refinance. Nothing ever happened. I've called at least five times and no one returns my calls. I want to get my money back for the appraisal. Can I file a small claim against them?

Re: Refinance never happened

I suggest you consider small claims. Many of the mortgage programs were legitimate, but there have been some frauds. Good Luck.
