do i have to sell my house
My girlfriend and I recently broke up. We bought a house together and are both named on the morgage. She wants to sell the house but I do not. What are her and my legal rights concerning this disagreement.

Well, you do not have to release her from the mortgage. She can go to court and ask to be released and force a sale. The best resoulution is to hire an attorney to draft an agreement between the two of you, releasing her obligations, and making it your responsibility. Of course, the morgage company will have to consent (after reviewing the document), sometimes it may be an allowed transaction.
