shore rental

The owner of the house contacted me to say he found my check dated 5/06 which he missplaced. Am I obligated to issue another check after almost 18 months

It appears the original check was issued for some legal obligation you had. The misplacement of the original does not relieve you from the obligation, unless time limitations on its cashing were part of the consideration for issuing it, or some other reason exists that failure to timely cash it excuse you from the obliagtion. Absent some unusual situation, you are obligated to replace it. More facts are needed to provide a better reply.
