Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Jersey

Hello- I signed a lease for an apartment in Bergen County NJ. The rental was to begin today, although we are not actually moving in until the 29th. Today I was there painting and found out that I am not allowed to park my car in the drive way. While the driveway is not addressed in the lease the rental ad, place by the real estate agency representing the owners, states that the apartment comes with 2 parking spaces. I am not in a position to not take this apartment, if we back out now we will be homeless at the end of the month. The landlord says that the driveway is only for the first floor tenant. Do I have any options?

Thank you.

It sounds like you have a fight with the landlord on your hands. You have options, I would need to talk it over with you and to see the lease.

Give me a call, make an appointment to come see me, and I will go over this with you, and give you some advice. I will let you know up front what it will cost for me to help you.
