Sueing former home owner

What is the statue of limitations for present home owner to sue former home owner due to undisclosed electrical and structural problems?

The former owner may not have had the obligation to disclose. Were they asked questions about the condition of the electrical and structural condition of the home? Did they make representations? Do you have any proof these problems were known to the former owners? Or were these problems such that they HAD to be known to then?

This should be considered a contract matter with a S.O.L. of 6 years from discovery.
