Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Jersey

The Township was granted a street tree easement by the developer. Now the Township does not wish to maintain the street trees and has advised they are the responsibility of the homeowner. How can the easement be reversed?

I'm not sure what you mean by "reversed." It is doubtful that the easement obligates the Township to do anything. In most cases, the easement just prevents the property owner from doing anything with the property that is inconsistent with the easement. To tell more, I would have to read the easement.
