Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Jersey

unable to sell business located in verbal leasehold

I own a business and all inventory and equipment in a mini mall. I have been here for 3 years on a verbal lease. The owner of the mall tells me that I can not sell my business - something about ''good will''. Is this true. I am sure that the owner of the mall would lease to the person whom I sell to.

Is my business a marketable product?

Re: unable to sell business located in verbal leasehold

If you can find a willing buyer, I see no reason why you cannot sell your business. The lack of a written lease may be a hindrance which you indicate could easily be addressed. If you wish to discuss this further please call me at 973-731-5110
