Legal Question in Social Security Law in New Jersey

declaration of death

I have reason to beleive my ex-husband, father of my 11 year old child is dead. We haven't seen him for 4 years, SSA has no forwarding address. Is there any way a declaration of death can be made

The Social Security Administration will not declare someone dead. But it may recognize a Court Order. You will need to check the laws of New Jersey or where ever he resided to determine what evidence is required to have a person declared dead.
