Legal Question in Social Security Law in New Jersey

SSI disability Law

i recently engaged a national law firm to represent me in an SSI disability claim after being refused benifits twice. this particular firm always advertises ''no fee if we don't win''

I already gotten 3 differant bills for medical information which they requested from my treating Drs.

Am I required to pay these fees in advance of my hearing??

being that I have no income and haven't worked for the past two years am I wasting my time in trying to get legal representation?

Re: SSI disability Law

You need to address these concerns to your "national law firm." But understand that according to Social Security Regulations, attorney's fees must be contingent. That means there is no 'fee' until you win.

The costs for copies of your medical records are NOT attorney's fees. Read your contract with his "national law firm." What does it say about costs for copies of medical records?

Costs for medical records are YOUR expense. Without medical records, your claim for disability will not be approved.

If you are unhappy with this 'national law firm' contact the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (Nosscr) for the name and phone number of an attorney in your area who specializes in Social Security disability law.
