I live in nj what is the legal limit for buying out of state

You can buy cigarettes for consumption out of state. So, for example, if you are on vacation, you can buy the cigarettes you will consume and not worry about NJ Tax. If, you buy cigarettes out of state (such as on an Indian Reservation or low tax state) you must pay "Use" Tax which is 7%.
I know this is not fair, but that is government.
