Tax on employee purchases
If I work in a wholesale warehouse, can my in-house purchases be tax exempt?
What if I work in a retail establishment?

When you make these purchases, you are a customer just like anyone else. If the sales of the merchandise are taxable, you are subject to the tax. However, if your employer wishes to give you a break, by selling to you at a discount, that includes the tax, it becomes the employer's responsibility to remit the tax.
