can you sue an accountant if he commited fraud while preparing your taxes and you have to now pay back taxes and interest?

While Kreig's answer seems correct, it may depend upon whether you knew of the fraud and participated by signing and filing a knowingly fraudulent return, who came up with the scheme, what the scheme involved, who provided the information used in the return and other facts not mentioned in your question. More information is needed to provide a proper answer.
