Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey
48 hour parking limit on public road in nj?
I was recently towed, in new jersey, for parking my REGISTERED, INSURED AND PERFECTLY LEGAL CAR, from a public road in New Jersey.
When I called the North Plainfield, NJ PD, they said they towed it because a car cannot be parked in one spot for longer than 48 hours!!
This is a public road, with no signs.
Please respond - Thanks

That sounds pretty crazy to me. But you have to understand what type of town North Plainfield is.
Here's the real issue, what are you going to do about it? By yourself, I don't see you going anywhere no matter what the law says. Furthermore, if you get an attorney, it will cost you 100 times more than what ever this costs you.
I understand you are upset, but unless you've got a lot of money to burn, I'm not sure where you are going here.

Were you parked on the Garden State Parkway or the New Jersey Turnpike? You must have notice that cars do not park on these roads, with the exception of vehicles which are not operable and they are usually promptly removed.
Call me if you like.
