Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

39:4-97

In october, my car was hit by another car from back. At the time of accident, i was completely stopped as there was a merging & i was stopped at Stop sign. Police has given the fault to the other driver. Now in december i got a call from Court for the violation 39:4-97. Could you please assist me that what i need to do in this case, do i need to hire a lawyer or it's just a call from court?

I would advise that you at least speak to an attorey. These cases can be rather tough as I've seen them many times. What probably happened is that the other driver is looking at having a big problem with the insurance company. Thus, he got the idea to blame it on you to avoid the insurance issues. While I obviously don't know what happened here, that is what I've seen several times.
