Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey
My 17 year old son is summoned to court for driving past midnight on July 4, driving too many passengers, and a passenger threw fireworks outside the car. There's a $230 ticket fee for throwing objects outside the car. Is it recommended to hire a lawyer or defend ourselves? The argument is that he is focusing on driving and cannot take responsibility for the passenger for throwing the object out. Also they were heading home and they all relied on my son to drive them home.

Sounds like your son has a lot of traffic tickets from this mess, and that could cost him a fair amount of money and other troubles (points, insurance more expensive). Give me a call, come in to see me, and I will be happy to defend him. 201 820 3460.
