Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey
I was in an accident today. I usually drive through a town to get to work because its quicker than the highway. The main road today was blocked off today for snow removal and I was forced to take a side street. I was going the speed limit which was 25 but was still unable to stop and slid through a stop sign because of the snow and ice on the road. I hit a vehicle in the intersection (their was did not have a stop sign). I struck his driver side door and his door was jammed and could not open so police had to call in a crew to open the door.
The driver of the other car told me he was fine and just had some glass on him but when cops arrived they spoke with him and called an ambulance in. Now my insurance will most likely cover the damage to his car but what can I expect otherwise in fees or fines and possible medical bills?

Well your insurance will cover his medical bills unless there is an exclusion. Standardly, it should.
I am assuming that you received tickets for the STOP sign and maybe for careless driving. You are looking at 4 points for the stop sign violation and 2 for the careless. I would suggest hiring an attorney right away. You need to negotiate and have to admissions to protect a civil case.
