Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

Please advise on 1127A and 39 :4-81

I got a traffic ticket in Greenburgh NY for 1127 A -Disobey SIGN one way street on 05/16/08 at 9.10 pm (No accident occurred and it was raining heavily on that day) and pleaded not guilty till now I didn't get the court date even though I am following regularly with them. On 03/31/09 @ 9.37 pm in NJ, I got a ticket for 39:4-81 (failure to observe signal) actually I crossed the stop line when it changed to yellow from green as breaking might cause the vehicle at back to hit me(No accident occurred). Yesterday (04/20/09) when I went to the court the prosecutor asked me if I want to take 39:4-97.2 (unsafe operation) and pay $450 with 0 points or go ahead and pay $85 and take two points. Luckily my name was not included in the list yesterday prosecutor wanted me to check and come back. What should I do considering the old issue in NY still hanging around?

I can't give you advice without speaking to you. In general, my concern would be how many points you may get in NY. For everything, I would want to limit my client to 2 points if I had a case like this. Insurance companies in NJ cannot raise your insurance for 2 points.
