Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey
I attended a hearing in court to fight a moving vehicle violation. I plead not guilty and requested a trial.
The officer that wrote the ticket was not present. The District Attorney said that if I wanted a trial, it would have to be on another day because the officer was not there or on duty that day. Shouldn't I have automatically won and the case been dismissed?
I live in New Jersey.
Thanks.
