Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey
auto accident-the other driver is lying
I was hit in there rear 12/29/06 on the entrance ramp to the highway. The car in front of me stopped abruptly, I had to stop and was then plowed into by the car behind me. The damage to my car is not that bad, the other car has significant damage and had to be towed. The other driver is stating that I backed up into him. The police officer indicated it is obvious to him this damage done to his car could never be caused by someone backing into him. There was no backing up on my part. The officer stated the other drivers statement will be on police report as well as mine. Will anyone buy this? Is there anything I can do? No other passenger in either car.

Re: auto accident-the other driver is lying
In what context? Has anything been filed against you? If not, there's nothing you can do until that happens. If it does happen, get an attorney. Will anyone buy it? Probably not, but that may take a while to get to that point.
