Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

California veh. code section 22112 seems to say that a school bus can stop to pickup or dropoff students only at locations designated by specific SCHOOL DISTRICT officials, not the driver, parents, principals, daycamp directors, etc. Does New Jersey have a similar law?

As a school bus driver frustrated by requests for confusing and difficult stop locations from the afformentioned types of people, please please find one for me.

There is no specific law in New Jersey that dictates the determination of a school bus stop. The New Jersey Administrative code 6A:27, sets forth some requirements including the training of school bus drivers. If the training is properly administered, using the vast amount of materials published by the various agencies and trade groups, the selection of a school bus stop is a detailed process using specific guidelines. In essence, it would be improper to have a bus stop without an evaluation of the safety of the stop. No bus driver, let alone a parent should be making that determination. That evaluation should be made by the trained transportation supervisor using well published criteria. Tell the parents to put the request in writing to the transportation supervisor.
