Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

Careless Driving

Is Careless Driving considered a misdemeanor in NJ, or a lesser charge of violation? Careless Driving is covered under NJ-ST 39:4-97, but I could not figure out if it is a misdemeanor or merely a violation. The reason for my inquiry is that a job security clearance request form I am filling out requires that I disclose all misdemeanors, and I don't want to disclose it if I don't have to.
