Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

careless driving

I was involved in a minor accident in a campground. The police were called and no tickets issues. However, the other party saw fit to go to the police station and have a careless driving ticket issued to me. How hard is this ticket to defend against when the police have determined no ticket was called for?

Re: careless driving

Normally, this is a very minor ticket that you probably would not need an attorney for. However, they could be setting you up to sue you. Thus, I would suggest you do get an attorney here. Since they signed the ticket, you have to deal with them to dismiss it which can be very difficult because they obviously have a reason for doing this in the first place.

The police determination would not prevent your being found guilty.
