Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

Careless Driving - Personal Injury

I was in an accident in NJ (I am from PA) that was said to be my fault. There were two other cars involved. Basically, I was hit from behind, my car spun out of control and was hit several more times, I hit the wall then went across the lanes. The cop gave me a ticket, drove me to a ''well-lit'' area and left me while I was hysterically crying and explaining that I wasnt from the area. I attended an initial court appearance and because there were personal injuries, apparently, I have to wait until the witnesses were obtained. I want to know why I have to keep coming back to court, can this be plea bargained, how this will affect my insurance, and should I obtain a lawyer? I'm just really low on money and I can't afford one and I cant afford to keep missing work. Thank you in advance!

Re: Careless Driving - Personal Injury

Normally, a careless driving ticket is something many people can handle by themselves. However, there was an accident here and anything you do could have a impact you if there is a law suit in the future. Thus, I strongly suggest you at least consult with an attorney before you do anything else.

My initial consultations are always free, so call me at 732/247/3340 to discuss your case.
