Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

Careless Driving 39:4-97

Hi. I received a ticket for careless driving after a one car accident (just me). I spun out on a slippery road, the police were called and as my car was being towed the officer gave me a ticket. How do i fight this, without an expensive lawyer?? He claims I must have been driving recklessly even though he wasn't there to see what happened. Someone mentioned to me about a ''Wensel defense'' (don't know if I'm spelling it right). Can you help and/or point me in the direction of getting info on this ''Wensel Law''

The only way to actually fight this is to take the case to trial. Otherwise you can try to work out a plea bargain on this case to reduce the points from two points to zero points. I am an attorney who has handled many cases similar to yours in various courts throughout New Jersey in the past. Please contact me to discuss your case in more detail. I never charge for simply talking to a person about their case. Thank you.

I do not know how the officer can prove how your accident happened when he did not witness it. The court might believe that what the officer's believes is probably true, but a criminal charge

requires proof beyond a reasonable doubt and probably is not enough.

You get a lawyer that is not expensive but that all turns on what your idea of expensive is. I need some more info about the case and my initial consultations are free, so call me at 732/247/3340 to discuss the case.
