Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey
Cell phone ticket
I got pulled over for going on a yellow light and using the cellphone while driving the cop used statute 39:4-97.2 on the ticket which is for unsafe driving. I wasn't talking on the phone or texting but I was playing around with the phone. I was talking, but to the passenger. Should I challenge this?

Re: Cell phone ticket
Not sure if you should bother. They can always amend the ticket or say that by playing with the phone, you were acting unsafe. You have a 0 point ticket now. They could turn around and nail you with a 2 point ticket or worse.
