Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

Citation of 12 years ago

I got a letter stating that I had an outstanding parking ticket that was issued almost 12 yrs in NJ. They mention that my license is suspended in NJ because of the ticket. I have not lived in NJ in 12 yrs.

First is there a statute of limitation regarding parking tickets?

Second does the driver license compacy apply to me? I dotn think a parking ticket is considered a major violation according to NJ or PA.

Last, can my license be suspended for a ticket I dont recall getting.

What are my options?

When someone fails to respond to a traffic ticket the person's privilege to drive in New Jersey can

be suspended. When that happens the suspension is picked up nationwide and the New Jersey suspension will prevent the renewal of driving privileges in the person's state.

If it is only a parking ticket you can just call the court; find out how much the fine and late payment penalty total and pay same and the New Jersey suspension will be vacated. If it is a moving

violation a court appearance is required. If the ticket is for a moving violation, I can appear in court without you and work out some sort of resolution.

Call me if you like.
