Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

Citizen's complaint against me

How is it that a neighbor can make a complaint against me and I can receive a traffic violation? When i went to court the prosecuter did not speak with me, only the person that made a complaint.

The prosecuter told him to make an additional complaint and didnt even give me one second of his time.

Now this citizen is threatening 10 points against my license. The judge advised me to retain legal advise and plead not guilty.

How does this person have a right to make such complaints when he does not have any kind of proof?

I believe that i am being treated unfair.

These kind of charges issued by private citizens are allowed under NJ law. You should call a lawyer to discuss your case since you are potentially facing very serious consequences. Anyone can file a criminal complaint or a traffic summons, not just police officers. Has your neighbor been law-abiding.
