Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

how to clear up an arrest warrant.

My husband was pulled over six years ago and received a ticket for driving without a DL. He never went to court for it and know we are planning a trip and are worry that he may get arrest when he trys to board the plane! So I guess i have two questions one what is the first step to clear this up and can we just take care of it over the phone or do we need to go to court? Will this warrant effect him getting on the plane since it still in the US?

You need to hire an attorney to insure that the warrant is withdrawn after the bail is paid. Sometimes the bail is waived when an attorney is hired.

Call me if you like.

You should retain an attorney. Contact the municipality where you got the ticket ,post bail and have the warrant lifted.

You probably should hire an attorney but if you do not, you need to contact the Court in the Municipality where the ticket was issued and find out how much bail needs to be posted so that the warrant can be lifted. You husband will need to go to the Court to address the ticket once a Court date has been scheduled. again sometimes the Court will agree to waive the bail if an attorney gets involved, it is not a guarantee and after six years the Court may even give a lawyer a hard time about eliminating the bail.
