Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

Crossing double yellow line while exiting the driveway.
I went to court to fight a ticket and both prosecutor and a police officer stated that I was not alowed to cross double solid yellow line to make a left turn from a driveway. However, in the drivers manual
on page 43 it says:

Left turns, between intersections. Between intersections, solid lines show when not to pass. These lines may be crossed with care when entering or leaving driveways in business or residential areas.

I searched title 39 for this law and did not find anything. Could someone, please, provide help as to the source of this law and whether it is true at all.

I need to know what statute you are charged with in order to answer your question.

It appears on the ticket, and should appear on the court notice for your new date.
