can dmv suspend your license when the judge has not
i went to court for driving while suspended i plead guilty and paid a fine the prosecutor recommended no suspension and the judge accepted this. now i am told by dmv that they are going to suspend my license anyway. are they allowed to do this?

You can appeal the matter administratively prior to the suspension and then convince the DMV to not suspend your driving privileges or to make the suspension very short.

The answer to this question depends upon your driving history. But in short, yes, they can. No they shouldn't be able to do it, but they could do it if the Court screwed up. However, you can work your way around it. I suggest you get an attorney to review all the paperwork to see what went wrong where and fix it. Without knowing more information, I can't give you the details since there are several things that could have gone wrong.
