It may seem odd, but driving without insurance carries a stiffer first time penalty than DWI. I strongly suggest you get an attorney as there are ways to fight this case. The fact that you also got into an acccident is probably going to make the penalties much worse.

i have read what the other attorneys wrote. they are correct.

get a lawyer. you will be bombarded by letters in the mail from lawyers. be careful; talk to the attorney before hiring. does this attorney go to municipal court often, several times a month at least? does the attorney do trials at least a couple times a year? many lawyers take your money, make a deal for you, but will NOT push hard to get you the best deal because they do not want to force a trial and make the prosecutor prove his case.

the penalties for driving without insurance are bad. get a lawyer.
