Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey
Failure to Makke Repairs
On 9/2004 was given a ticket for failure to make repairs, unable to pay ticket exlpained to the court before the date. Did not go to court or had the money to pay the ticket. Was issued a $10 fine on top of the ticket, still did not have the money to pay it. Now I have a warrent for my arrest. I know I need to sign the warrent ticket but at my new court hearing what are my rights? Will my liences be taken away, will there be any penalties? Signal Mothers trying to make ends meet, have no one to watch my child, a little afraid here.

Re: Failure to Makke Repairs
You have to pay the fine in order to get square with the court. My advice would be to go to the municipal court where you got the ticket, explain to the clerk what is going on, pay the warrant, go to the court date, explain ot the judge what your financial situation is, and ask to be put on some type of payment plan. If you have to bring your kids to court, then do so.If you explain to the judge what happened you won't have to worry about jail or anything and he may even lift the additional $10.00 penalty. Good luck.
