Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

Failure to observe traffic signals

I was given this ticket because while i was turning left at a light (I'm already in the middle of the intersection) the light turns yellow then red. the officer was a block up from me driving towards me from the opposite direction headed to the same intersection when he seen me make the turn. From that distance there is noway he can see how far in to the intersection i was but he tells me he thinks i ran the red light and gives me this ticket. what can i do to get a no point penalty or get this ticket thrown out?

Like every traffic ticket case, you have to talk to the prosecutor. You can do this with or without an attorney. Shouldn't cost much to get an attorney to go to court with you. Not sure where the ticket is out of, but if you let me know, I could probably find you a lawyer that handles that court. Call me at 732/773/2768 to discuss.

Mr. Henninger just gave you the answer. If your record is clear, you may not need a lawyer. the ticket carries 2 motor vehicle points. You need to contact the Court, plead not guilty and get a Court date to speak with the prosecutor. He or she will probably offer you a no point violation. If you feel that you did not do anything wrong then you can go to trial and explain what happened to the Judge. It would be up to the Court to decide? Feel free to call me if you should have any questions. I never charge for a consultation (201)-894-9498. Good Luck, J Mincis
