Am i at fault for this accident?

I was parked in front of a store. I didnt see any ''No Parking'' signs. Someone back out of thier parking spot and hit me. The cop gave me a ticket and said that i was at fault. If there was a ''No Parking'' sign am I at fault. I thought that if i wasnt moving that it would be thier fault. So if there was a sign, is that accident her fault because i wansnt moving?

If you were parked and the other person hit you, I can't see how the police can give you a ticket for causing the accident. It seems to me, based on what you have told me only, that you may have a good case for a trial to beat the ticket. I certainly wouldn't plead guilty to a moving violation ticket if I wasn't moving.
