Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

fight for autoaccident ticket

Dear Sir,

My father got a violation ticket from police officer after an accident today. no body injured and min auto damage of the two involved cars. Due to language barrier, the officer ONLY took the description from the other party, who described that my father did not turn the signal on at the stop sign and stayed on the left turn lane and made the right turn. The fact is a seventy-year old with more than 10 year driving history was going home from church with his 4 yr old grandson in the car. About 0.1 mile from his home after a full stop and a right turn on the one-lane road, he suddenly felt something heavy and fast struck his rear right side of car.

It takes 10 days for the police report to be ready and the court date is scheduled a couple of days after that.

How can we straighten out the fact and fight for the ticket.

I believe the 20ish girl who was speeding and cutting in should be the one to get the ticket. Please help. Thanks.

Re: fight for autoaccident ticket

The way to fight this is to take the case to trial. If there is a language barrier, then you can ask the court to provide an interpreter for whatever language you need at no cost to you. I am an attorney who has handled many cases similar to the one you describe in the past in various courts throughout New Jersey. I would like to discuss this case in more detail. Please call me at 908-272-0111 to discuss your case. There is never any charge for simply talking to me about a case. Thank you.
