Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey
Should I fight my parking ticket?
I live in a small city that doesn't allow overnight parking (2am-6am) without a permit. I was parked on the street during these hours and received a ticket. The issue is there were SEVERAL other cars parked on the street that did NOT receive a ticket. I took photos of a few of the other cars within minutes of receiving my ticket. Note: they also did not display permits. The car directly in front of mine belonged to a police officer (as there was a police badge in the window but no permit). Should I fight my parking ticket and how soon? I was thinking about going to police headquarters as soon as it opens.

No. In court the judge will only ask if you were parked there w/o a permit over night. You can complain about others getting special treatment, but that has nothing to do with what you did.
