She does need a medical note from a Doctor stating that she was unable to appear in Court because of illness, but you really should retain a lawyer. Driving without Insurance is a very serious motor vehicle infraction. a first offense carries anywhere from a $300.00 to a $1,000.00 fine, a 1 year mandatory loss of license and community service. For a second offense the fines can be much higher and you would face jail time. If a warrant was issued, an attorney could seek a new Court date and further seek to have the warrant vacated. I've been handling these kinds of matters for eighteen years and would be happy to speak to you and your girl friend about the case, I never charge a fee to merely speak to someone. (201)-894-9498. Again, retaining an attorney should be given serious consideration based on the ticket that she is dealing with and the potential consequences
