Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey
Imporper passing 39:4-86
I got an improper passing ticket for making a U-turn in Hoboken. I didn't know what the ticket was till I looked up in the internet. I did not pass anyone, I just did a U-turn to park. Is this ticket valid?

The ticket would seem to be the wrong charge. I do not believe that there is any offense. The Officer probably issued the summons because he knew that a u-turn is illegal only if there
is a sign posted advising that no u-turn is allowed.

Your problem here is that it is probably not worth your time and money to get an attorney, but without one, you'll face an uphill battle fighting the ticket.
