Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey
leaving the scene of an accident
my boyfriend is being charged with leaving the scene of an accident of a parked car. i understand there may be fines and points, but will he definetly lose his license for 6 months, or if we hire a lawyer, can this be brought down at all? i read that if we make arrangements of fixing the parked car beforehand, this is can be a big help. driving is unfortunately a big part of his job, so this is our main concern.

Hiring an attorney is a very good idea. There may ba a possibility that the license will not be suspended with the right legal argument. John Ducey 732/286/2170
Re: leaving the scene of an accident
If your boyfriend is convicted, he could face a mandatory 6 month license suspension. However, there are arguments a lawyer can use to make that less likely. I have had a lot of clients charged with hit and run, and I have always found a way around it.
Give me a call at 877/688/3879. We'll see what we can do for your boyfriend.
Re: leaving the scene of an accident
This is a serious offense, but there could be ways to arrange for some lesser charge that does not require a loss of your boyfriend's license. I am an attorney who has handled many cases similar to yours in various courts throughout New Jersey in the past. Please contact me to discuss your case in more detail. I never charge for simply talking to a person about their case. Thank you.

Re: leaving the scene of an accident
A conviction for leaving the scene of an accident requires a six month loss of license. It makes good sense to hire an attorney to avoid a conviction for this offense.
