You should retain an attorney. The charges against you are serious and have serious consequences. You do have good defenses to your case and although you may be successful, you may not be as successful as if you had an attorney.
Call if you would like to discuss your matter further.

Re: Leaving the scene
I am sorry to hear about your situation. Your case will be very fact dependent and will likely depend heavily upon on the testimony/recollection of the girl. Ultimately, the police will probably still want to pursue your father if you prove that it was not you operating the truck - it is unlikely they will just let it go.
You should consider hiring an attorney because this case as it is a bit more complicated that your average speeding ticket and carries much more severe possible penalties.

Re: Leaving the scene
You have to address these tickets in court - you can't just try to work it out with the cop. You then have to decide if you want to tell the prosecutor that it was your dad driving the truck. If you do that, they will find out he doesn't have a license and he can get in trouble for both that and for the leaving the scene tickets. Nevertheless, since the tickets were issued against you, you are the one who has to go to court on them. I am an attorney who has handled many cases similar to yours in various courts in New Jersey in the past. I would like ot talk to you about your case in more detail. Please call me at 908-272-0111 to talk. There is never any charge for simply talking to me about a case. Thank you.
