Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

Missing a Stop Sign

I was driving thru a street in Jersey City, NJ at 10 MPH which has a pedestrian cross walk with a stop sign. I was pulled over by an officer. When I asked him why he stopped me, he said that I did not come to a full stop. I said that I stopped and when the truck on the other side starting going, I also started driving. I asked him did you see my break light and he said he saw them but thats not enough.

Now the ticket he gave says, 4-81 Failure to observe signal. I understand this ticket is for driving on a red light. Can I fight this and win. Will the officer come to the court and say that I was driving on a red light?

Re: Missing a Stop Sign

If the officer realizes it, he will amend the ticket for the correct statute.
