Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

Misuse of handicap privilege!

I live in NJ and I have a neighbor that has a handicapped spot in front of her house. It really gets on my nerves when she doesnt use the parking spot and instead parks in a regular spot so she can save that spot for friends\family when they visit, and then move her car to her handicapped spot. Is there any action I can take?

If you can document a pattern of your neighbor not needing the reserved handicapped spot, you can apply to the city to have the spot removed. These spots are for medical necessity and not personal convenience.

Also, if you notice a car parked in the reserved spot without a handicapped sign or plates, the police could issue a ticket for that infraction.

If someone parks in the space that does not have a handicap license or card, you could issue a ticket. However, you cannot force your neighbor to use it.
