Narcotics involved
I was recently pulled over in the town of Hazlet, NJ. Stemming from being pulled over, I was arrested for possesion of marijuana, paraphanalia, as well as cocaine. My question, though, pertains mainly towards my rights as a driver. When pulled over, the cop never told me why I was pulled over, and I honestly believe he had no reason to possibly pull me over, as I was obeying all traffic laws at the time. So, number one, can I get off on some sort of technicality. And, number two, if so, what are the chances it would actually happen, keeping in mind the idea of ''my word against his'' with 'his' being a cop's?

The police need an articulable reason for pulling you over. You do not say if you were given any traffic summons for a moving violation that could have been the basis for the stop. If there is no reason given for the stop, then there is a chance of suppressing the evidence found in the car. The discovery in the matter would have to be reviewed but from your discussion it seems that a motion to suppress the evidence bacause of an illegal stop should be filed oon your behalf. If you would like to discuss this matter further, please call 732-286-2170.

Evidence seized as a consequence of an arbitrary stopping of a person or vehicle can be suppressed in the trial of any resulting criminal or traffic charges. Your chances depend on all the facts and
circumstance, including the officer's radio transmissions as to the reason for the stop. All police radio transmissions are recorded and must be immediately sought by your attorney.

You need to retain an attorney immediately as you are charged with serious criminal offenses.
Your attorney can review all the facts to determine whether some or all of the evidence can be excluded at trial due to an illegal stop, search, and/or seizure by the police.
