Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey
I recd a summons in the mail for violation 39.4-81 caught on camera. The violation date was 8/2 and the summons was issued on 9/21 and postmarked 9/23 and recd. on 9/26. How much after the violation do they have to notify you with a summons. Or can I challenge this.

I believe that they are correct that the summons needs to be issued within thirty days of the alleged offense date. I have no idea if the fact it was a camera that supposedly took the picture makes a difference, but since the summons was issued well beyond the thirty day timeline what have you got to loose, good luck J mincis, (201)-894-9498
