Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey
I received a notice of violation by mail 39:4-81 - Failure to Observe Trafic Signal. There was no ticket issues as the violation was captured only on camera.
Am I reading it correctly that since it was only on camera the law states there will be no points assessed on my DMV record or insurance policy? Is that correct? Should I just pay the requested $85 or any other actions are needed?
Thanks,
Larry

I am not aware of any law that precludes the Division of Motor Vehicles from assessing points just because it was a camera enforced ticket. I would expect that you would get 2 points. Call my office to set up an appointment to discuss this matter further.
