Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey
I received a speeding Ticket in NJ. No Court ID was entered on the ticket. Is the ticket valid or will it be thrown out?

why should that result in the ticket being thrown out? Is there a ticket number on the summons? The ticket should still most likely tell you the Municipality that you are in and/or which Court is responsible for handling the ticket, I doubt very much that the lack of a Court Code is sufficient grounds for having the summons dismissed. Arguing that you weren't speeding would be a better argument even though it probably will not get your ticket dismissed. How fast does the officer allege that you were traveling? if it was less than 29 miles over, I would ask for a Court date and appear in Court and speak to the prosecutor about the possibility of reducing the points. If the ticket alleges that you were traveling thirty mph or higher over the speed limit or that you were doing in excess of 90 mph, i would consult an attorney because thirty points or more will result in 5 motor vehicle ponts on your license and/or the increased possibility that your driving privleges could be suspended. feel free to call with any questions. good luck.
