Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey
Received a speeding ticket in NJ for driving 55mph in a 45 mph zone. Trying to avoid points/ insurance chargers. Would appearing for the court date help this cause?

Yes it would. Plead not guilty and speak with the prosecutor about reducing your ticket to a no point violation which will most likely be unsafe driving. Unsafe driving carries no points the first 2 times you plead to it. If you try and use it a third time and it is less than five years after you plead to the second the DMV would assess 4 points against your licendeso just be careful to make certain that youhave not used unsafe more than twice.
